Alia Bhatt’s recent appointment as the inaugural Indian global ambassador for Gucci in May 2023 sparked diverse reactions on the internet. Nevertheless, her latest appearance seems to reinforce the alignment between the renowned Italian brand’s aesthetics and the personal style of the National award-winning actress.Styled by Priyanka Kapadia, Bhatt donned a wine-red straight-cut mini dress from Gucci’s spring/summer 2024 collection titled ‘Milano Ancora’ at a recent event. The ensemble mirrored the runway presentation, complemented by leather loafer heels in a matching hue. This incorporation of red with leather echoes the distinct theme carried throughout the collection. Notably, the use of silver hardware on the attire and footwear, paired with gold Marina jewelry, reflects the growing trend of mixing metals. Bhatt accessorized the outfit with gold-hued Marina hoops and a chunky bracelet, drawing inspiration from Gucci’s archival pieces from the 1970s—also marking Sabato De Sarno’s inaugural ad campaign since assuming the role of Gucci’s creative director. Her sleek shoulder-length bob provided a refreshing departure from her usual wavy locks.

The Milan Fashion Week show marked De Sarno’s debut as Gucci’s new creative director, presenting a departure from Alessandro Michele’s creative approach. The collection took cues from the minimalist era during Tom Ford’s tenure (1994-2004) at the Kering-owned brand. Glossy red emerged as the primary color alongside tan, navy, and neon green—colors that Bhatt elegantly showcased while attending Sarno’s debut.
