Kristen Stewart’s Unconventional Elegance Channeling Punk at Chanel’s Pre-Fall Show

Kristen Stewart first caught the eye as a fashion icon, she’s defied expectations of the typical ‘It’ girl. Her style exudes an authentic, edgy spirit with grunge-punk influences. Even as a Chanel ambassador since 2013, she has stayed true to her unique style. This was evident at the recent Chanel Pre-Fall 2024 show, where Stewart adorned a Chanel tweed dress, infusing it with her signature punk elements and a carefree attitude.Among the A-list attendees at Chanel’s Metièrs d’Art runway in Manchester, England, the Spencer actor donned a black-and-white tweed pleated dress, a creation by Chanel. Departing from the conventional, she left most top buttons undone, creating a plunging neckline. Accentuating the exposed top, she adorned silver chain necklaces. Eschewing dainty heels or flats, Stewart opted for lace-up combat boots, loosely tied, adding an alternative edge. Complementing her look was her newly dyed copper-red hair and choppy curtain bangs, accessorized with a velvet headband. Stewart, synonymous with Chanel, embraced her ‘red carpet rebel’ persona, aligning with the brand’s ethos.

The location of Chanel’s recent Pre-Fall show in Manchester, birthplace of Britain’s counterculture movements and beloved alt-bands, inspired Stewart’s non-conformist style. Virginie Viard’s collection for Chanel drew from Britain’s subcultures and working class, blending classic tweed silhouettes with vibrant colors. Sets paired with mini skirts and Bermuda shorts, accented with rosette broaches and paperboy caps, graced the runway.Speaking with WWD post-show, the 33-year-old expressed her admiration for the city, stating, ‘Every historical reference from this place culturally—the birthplace of Oasis, The Smiths—this is my bread and butter in terms of what turns me on.’ She further praised the collection, remarking, ‘I thought the clothes were potentially my favorite show that I’ve seen in person.
