Feeling like a million bucks in this bold red suit! Ready to take on the world!
Ilaria Urbinati, stylist to Barry Keoghan, asserts, ‘I believe in aggressive styling,’ just moments before the commencement of the Golden Globes red carpet. ‘We really lean into a theme.’ The theme for the 2024 awards season? A fusion of Saltburn’s essence with punk rock vibes.
Urbinati, introduced to the burgeoning Irish star through her partner, Keoghan’s Muay Thai coach (given Keoghan’s initial aspiration to be a boxer, her punchy styling approach feels especially fitting), reflects, ‘There was a moment when I considered toning it down, but then I thought, “Nah, we’re going for it.”‘ From the earrings to the trouser chain and the intricate pearl button detailing embellishing the 31-year-old’s bespoke red plaid Louis Vuitton suit, every accent serves as an integral part of Keoghan’s boldest look to date. ‘It’s truly unique,’ Urbinati asserts, praising the symbiotic collaboration. ‘I adore the dynamic we’ve cultivated between myself, Barry, and Louis Vuitton.
The tailored cropped jacket and sleek-cut trousers, both distinctive to Keoghan’s style, are adaptations from Pharrell Williams’s inaugural collection for the revered French fashion house. Williams’s debut marked one of the most significant fashion moments last year, highlighted by the Pont Neuf bridge takeover and the star-studded attendance (Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Naomi Campbell) at the show. The innovative work of the newly appointed creative director resonates perfectly with Keoghan, described by his stylist as someone with ‘zero interest in anything overly traditional,’ and possessing a ‘rebellious, adventurous, and creative’ spirit.
