Dia Mirza stuns in Pankaj & Nidhi’s ‘XV’ Collection at Lakmē Fashion Week x Fashion Design Council of India.
Dia Mirza recently turned to the skilled hands of Pankaj & Nidhi for her ensemble, focusing on intricate embroidery and structured silhouettes in her six-yard staple. This not only showcases a preference for pieces with significant value but also firmly anchors one’s style choices amid the multitude of trends. The actor opted for a structurally-laden sari set from their collection titled ‘XV.’
The collection, marking the brand’s 15 years in the fashion industry, was presented on the runway at Lakmē Fashion Week x Fashion Design Council of India in 2023. Mirza’s ivory ensemble showcased a subtle yet striking contemporary interpretation of the classic six-yard staple. The halter-harness peplum top featured a plunging neckline with trapunto quilting and pearlesque cord-work along with metal detailing in the front. The sari also featured the cord-work running along the borders, highlighting the collection’s signature design elements. The look was rounded off with a pearl-beaded choker necklace, dainty earrings, and bracelets from Maya Sanghavi Jewels.
Dia Mirza took the spotlight as the showstopper for the brand at the same event in a monochrome ensemble that included standout pieces like the ‘Conquistador jacket’ and the ‘Noire Articulate drape pants’ from their collection. The collection’s overall theme portrayed a monochromatic vision of Pankaj & Nidhi’s signature style, playing with a palette of black and ivory complemented by subtle hints of muted gold. Inspired by the ceremonial traje de luces worn by Spanish toreros, the collection aimed to capture the essence of power dressing infused with modernity.
Celebrities, including Malaika Arora, Diana Penty, and Neha Dhupia, have admirably adopted the well-defined styles from the brand’s collection. Arora opted for a ‘Memento’ yoke and shirt, while Dhupia followed a structured silhouette in a white criss-cross harness bodice featuring a distinctive winged shoulder blade. This was paired with a black maxi pencil skirt and a sequin-embroidered belt to cinch the midriff.
