Kylie Jenner makes a statement in black plastic at the Runner launch event.
Kylie Jenner is expanding her business ventures into yet another industry, but her fondness for figure-hugging, attention-grabbing dresses remains as strong as ever. Last night, Jenner celebrated the launch of her canned vodka brand, Runner, in a sizzling plastic ensemble which she paired with a pair of controversial pumps.
True to form, Jenner made a striking statement at her Los Angeles event by donning a subtly daring dress. The garment featured a scoop neckline that accentuated her curves with a knee-length skirt, focusing more on silhouette than extravagant embellishments or dramatic flair. But when you’re braving the L.A. heat in black plastic, who needs intricate design details anyway.
Jenner kept her accessories minimal, opting for a slim gold bracelet, tousled glamorous hair, and a pair of sheer PVC heels—yes, the transparent kind that her sister-in-law Kim favored back in the late 2010s—to complete her ensemble. It’s been a busy few weeks for Jenner, who just unveiled another project, a fragrance called Grandiose, last week. Once again, she sported a figure-hugging outfit—this time, in ruby red instead of gothic black.
Jenner’s evening look wasn’t just about the plunging neckline at the front. The back of her dress took things up a notch with a daring cut-out that began just above her waist. Instead of opting for a clutch or a small bag, Jenner used one of her Runner cans as her accessory for the evening—a savvy move for the ever-entrepreneurial star. Of course, Jenner had one more little black dress up her sleeve. She also slipped into a turtleneck number from Ferragamo’s spring 2024 collection. Like her plunging midi, this dress also featured a relatively simple bodycon silhouette jazzed up by a sculptural leather piece around the waist.
For all the talk of Jenner’s style evolution (which, of course, she hasn’t been paying attention to), her new looks adhere to a very specific formula: mostly monochrome, some form of cut-out, and definitely figure-hugging. Oh, and perhaps a Runner can doubling as a clutch.
