Angelina Jolie graces the red carpet with timeless sophistication alongside her daughter Vivienne.
Angelina Jolie graced the red carpet at this year’s Oscars, marking her debut as a designer, but it’s been over two years since she last made a solo appearance on the traditional step and repeat. However, yesterday, Jolie reminded us that her sleek and chic style remains timeless as she made a rare red carpet appearance in New York City accompanied by one of her children.
Jolie attended the Broadway premiere of The Outsiders, a play she co-produced alongside her children Vivienne, 15, and Pax, 19. For the event, the actress opted for a sophisticated ensemble in layers of champagne hues. She wore a floor-length satin gown paired with a flowing cape adorned with a single button at the top. While her Marvel days may be behind her—her last red carpet moment was for her role in The Eternals—her attire exuded high-fashion sophistication.
Accessorizing her look, Jolie chose chunky asymmetrical earrings from Saint Laurent and peep-toe pumps. Her glam was kept timeless with wispy, ashy blonde waves and a bold red lip. Later, Jolie was joined on the red carpet by The Outsiders co-producer Justin Levine and her daughter Vivienne. Vivienne, who played a key role in producing the Broadway production, opted for a more casual navy jumpsuit and Converse sneakers.Speaking to reporters, the Oscar winner revealed that Vivienne is the “theater head” in the family, jokingly adding, “She’ll correct me. She’ll say, ‘Didn’t you read the memo? We have to do this, we have to go through this.’ She’s been a really tough assistant. She takes it very, very seriously.
Jolie has been vocal about her reservations regarding Hollywood, which likely explains her infrequent red carpet appearances in recent years. Instead, she has focused on her philanthropic work and her new fashion venture, Atelier Jolie, which recently opened its first brick-and-mortar store in New York City. However, it’s likely that we’ll see more of Jolie on the red carpet in the coming months as she stars in Pablo Larraín’s Maria, a biopic of the late opera legend Maria Callas, set to release later this year. If her on-screen wardrobe is any indication, we can expect her press tour fashion to be a sight to behold.
