Sonam Kapoor Just Made Tamil Script the Chicest Thing You’ll See This Week

Trust Sonam Kapoor to make a major style statement—again. At the launch of Masaba Gupta’s flagship store in Mehrauli, Sonam showed up and showed out in a white saree that had gold polka dots, black Tamil script, and that signature Sonam edge. Styled by her forever collaborator and sister Rhea Kapoor, this look is what fashion dreams (and Pinterest boards) are made of.

The vibe? Traditional-meets-edgy. The six-yard stunner featured golden dots and bold Tamil lettering that wrapped around the fabric like a visual poem. Oh, and let’s not forget the House Palm mascot woven in Tamil script—so extra, so iconic. She kept the palette clean with a matching white blouse, but flipped the script with a low-back, tie-up detail that brought the drama without screaming for it.

To finish, Sonam paired ruby drop earrings (hello, colour pop), a pouch purse, and dainty rings. Her glam? Flawless. Think winged liner, blushed cheeks, glossy nude lips, and a sleek bun with a classic red bindi—courtesy of Namrata Soni.

Sonam summed it up best on IG: “Celebrating 15 years of friendship, collaboration and iconic motifs.” A shoutout to her bond with Masaba and a nod to style that means something.

TL;DR: If your saree doesn’t have scripts, motifs, and a story behind it, is it even Sonam-approved?
