The gown featured striking sculpted side seam detailing, especially noticeable on the thigh-high slit, displaying Kapoor’s shift towards more elegant and sophisticated silhouettes. Noteworthy was Kapoor’s nod to Angelina Jolie’s iconic “leg dress” moment with a similar slit reminiscent of Atelier Versace’s design at the Academy Awards.

The skirt’s iridescent feathers underneath, combined with the velvet lining, provided a textural contrast, creating a glossy illusion. The dress’s torso boasted a central zipper, keeping the focus solely on the ensemble by forgoing additional accessories, except for ear cuffs. Paired with Valentino Garavani Tan-Go patent-leather platform pumps, Kapoor effortlessly elongated her legs, enhancing the gown’s distinguished slit.Her makeup followed a soft goth theme, featuring smoky eyes and a nude lip, complemented by a side-part bun. Contrasting with Sonam Kapoor’s recent black spring/summer ’24 Marianela Dress from Huishan Zhang, which also embraced the jacket-gown hybrid but without a slit, Khushi’s ensemble took a bolder, elevated approach. Both looks, however, embraced the gothic fashion aesthetics that gained momentum this year, with Kapoor’s outfit leaning towards a daring expression while Kapoor’s exuded a more modest yet fashionable vibe.
