Kareena Kapoor Khan’s IIFA Look Is a Luxe Throwback to Bidri Craft—And We’re Obsessed

Kareena Kapoor Khan just dropped yet another sari slay, and this time, it’s a modern take on an archival Tarun Tahiliani masterpiece. The actor turned heads at the IIFA 2025 Awards in Jaipur in a deep wine and antique gold drape, proving once again that she’s in her full-fledged sari era. But this isn’t just any designer ensemble—it’s a revival of a 2008 Tahiliani creation, featuring exquisite dabka and nakshi embroidery inspired by Bidri craft, a centuries-old metal inlay technique from Karnataka.

Of course, Kareena’s signature glam touch took the look to the next level. The sari was styled with a fitted corset, a structured drape, and a cape, giving it that perfect old-world-meets-new-age couture aesthetic. She kept the accessories minimal yet statement-worthy, opting for a choker necklace and earrings from Birdichand Jewellers. Her sleek bun and soft nude makeup added the right amount of drama, letting the intricate detailing of the sari take center stage.

It’s no secret that Bebo loves a heritage sari moment, and she’s been serving them back-to-back. At her cousin Aadar Jain’s wedding, she dripped in royalty in a red Ritu Kumar sari with gold threadwork embroidery. For a more laid-back yet equally striking vibe, she recently stepped out in a blue Anita Dongre sari featuring motifs inspired by Rajasthani art. And let’s not forget her silver sequined Sabyasachi sari from last year’s Filmfare Awards—a look that was straight-up iconic.

Kareena Kapoor Khan’s latest look is a reminder that India’s craftsmanship is timeless, and when blended with high fashion, the results are pure magic. This Tarun Tahiliani revival isn’t just a piece of clothing—it’s a love letter to tradition, reimagined for the modern-day diva.
